Stock price alerts in the same app as your crypto

By , developer of CoinPriceAlert · Numbers updated 11 September 2026

Short answer

CoinPriceAlert sends US stock price alerts as push notifications or Telegram messages, free for up to three active alerts, in the same watchlist as crypto, metals and forex. Set a price level or a percentage move; alerts follow the regular trading session and are checked on our servers, so they fire with the app closed. It watches prices; it does not trade.

Close-to-close moves over the last year of trading days. The crypto-linked stocks sit closer to crypto volatility than to Apple's. Highlighted: the tightest threshold that still fired three times a month or fewer. 250 trading days measured; updated 11 September 2026.

Stocks move on a schedule, which changes the alert

A stock has a closing bell, an earnings date four times a year and a news flow that lands mostly during US hours. Apple moved about 0.77% on a typical day over the last year and more than 2.63% on one day in ten, and most of the largest days were earnings reactions. That makes a price-level alert more useful for stocks than for crypto: the levels you care about, a buy zone or the price where you would trim, are usually reached in an orderly session rather than in a 3am wick.

Percentage alerts still earn their place for the volatile names. Coinbase and MicroStrategy trade as proxies for Bitcoin and move more like it than like the index; the table shows the difference. For those, a 3% alert catches the days worth knowing about without you naming a price.

After-hours, pre-market and gaps

Alerts evaluate on the regular-session price. If a company reports after the close and the stock moves 8% in after-hours trading, the alert fires at the next open when the regular session prints the new price, not at 4:05pm. The guide on after-hours alerts below explains why that is the honest behaviour rather than a limitation: after-hours prints are thin and often reverse before the open.

Why stocks belong next to your crypto

Crypto has followed US market hours and US risk appetite more closely each year, and the stocks that matter most to a crypto holder are the ones that trade as crypto proxies: the exchange, the treasury company, the miners. Watching them in the same list as Bitcoin shows when a move is crypto-specific and when it is the whole risk complex. The guide on stock market alerts for crypto investors below goes through which names to watch and why.

How to set a stock alert in the app

Open the Markets screen, switch to stocks and pick the company, or search the ticker. Choose a price level or a 24-hour percentage move, pick push, Telegram or both, and save. Quiet hours matter less here because the market has a bell, but they still apply if you want a pre-market move held until you are up.

Frequently asked questions

Is the stock price alert free?

Yes. Three active alerts are free across every market in the app, with push and Telegram delivery and no card. Pro is $2.99 a month for unlimited alerts.

Which stocks are covered?

The most-traded US large caps plus the crypto-linked names, such as Coinbase and MicroStrategy. Search the ticker in the app to check a specific company.

Do alerts work after hours?

Alerts evaluate on the regular-session price. A move in after-hours or pre-market trading shows up at the next open, which is also when it becomes a price you could act on.

Can the app buy or sell stocks?

No. CoinPriceAlert watches prices and notifies you. It does not connect to a brokerage, hold funds or place orders.

What threshold should a stock percentage alert use?

Use the table above. Apple moved about 0.77% on a typical day over the last year; crypto-linked names move two to three times that. Pick the row where the alert fired two or three times a month.
