Short answer

Bitcoin moved 1.25% on a typical day over the last 365 days and more than 3.58% on one day in ten; a 5% alert fired about 1.3 times a month. The most volatile large coins measured are Pump.fun (4.23% typical day), Zcash (4.15% typical day), Lighter (3.24% typical day); the calmest are PAX Gold (0.64%), Tether Gold (0.67%), TRON (0.71%). The table lists 40 coins; the highlighted column is the tightest 24-hour alert that still fired three times a month or fewer.

Method

For each coin with a USDT spot pair on Binance, we take the last 365 daily candles and compute the absolute close-to-close change for each day. "Typical day" is the median of those moves, "1 day in 10" the 90th percentile, and "largest day" the maximum. A threshold "fires" on any day whose move exceeded it; firings per month is the count divided by the number of days and multiplied by 30. That is exactly what a 24-hour percentage alert measures, so the numbers are an audit of how a given alert would have behaved, not a forecast. Stablecoins are excluded. Coins without a Binance USDT pair are omitted rather than estimated. The dataset is recomputed hourly and the CSV is the same rows.

How to use it

Find your coin and read across to the first column where firings per month is three or fewer: that is the threshold at which an alert stays rare enough to open. Set that as a 24-hour percentage alert in the app, or use the threshold calculator for a single asset with the full range of thresholds. Every coin's own page carries the same planner built from its own candles, next to the live chart.

Two cautions. Volatility clusters, so a quiet year understates what a busy one brings, and the largest-day column shows how far a coin has strayed from its typical day. And these are close-to-close moves; an asset that swung hard intraday and closed flat does not appear here, so intraday alerts fire more often than this table suggests.
