How to use CoinPriceAlert: setup guides for every feature
Set up CoinPriceAlert in three steps: search for any coin, stock, metal or currency pair; set a price or percentage condition; then close the app. Every condition is then re-evaluated on our servers every 5 seconds, so alerts arrive whether or not the app is running, and the free plan holds 3 of them. If alerts are not arriving, it is nearly always a phone permission rather than the app.
The three-step setup
Pick the asset. One search field covers crypto, US stocks, metals and currency pairs — you do not switch apps or accounts to move between them. Star anything you want pinned to the top of your home screen.
Set the condition. A price level you name, a percentage move over a window, or one bulk rule that scans an entire market segment. If you would not act when it fires, do not set it.
Close the app. Conditions are checked server-side, so nothing needs to stay open and the app is not sitting in the background consuming battery. That is the entire workflow — everything else in this section is refinement or troubleshooting.
If alerts are not arriving
Work through this in order, because it identifies the cause fastest. First, open your alert history. If the alert shows as triggered but you never saw a notification, the problem is delivery — a phone setting. If it never triggered, the problem is the alert itself: the level may not have been reached, or a one-time alert may have already fired.
On Android, the usual cause is battery optimisation. The system suspends background apps to save power, and several manufacturers ship far more aggressive versions than stock Android. Settings → Apps → CoinPriceAlert → Battery, set to Unrestricted. On some devices you also need to enable Autostart in a separate security app.
On iOS, the permission prompt appears exactly once. If you dismissed it, the app cannot ask again and will never notify you — you have to grant it in Settings → CoinPriceAlert → Notifications. Also check that a Focus mode is not filtering the app, and that it is excluded from Scheduled Summary, which batches notifications and would deliver a time-sensitive price alert hours late.
Tracking a wallet without giving up any control
You can monitor any wallet using only its public address. A public address is a destination — it is what you give someone so they can pay you, and it is visible to anyone on a public blockchain by design. It cannot authorise a transfer, because reading a ledger and spending from it require completely different things.
That asymmetry is why read-only tracking carries no custody risk. The app reads balances the same way a block explorer does. It has never been given the ability to move anything, so it cannot, regardless of what happens to it.
The line that never moves: no portfolio tracker, price app, tax tool or support agent ever needs your recovery phrase or private key. Not for verification, not to sync, not to claim anything. Every such request is theft in progress, and stating it absolutely is what makes the rule useful — you never have to evaluate the story attached.
Getting alerts where you actually read things
Alerts can arrive as push notifications, in Telegram, or both. Telegram is worth connecting if you already live there during the day — it also carries the daily portfolio report, which summarises value and movement without you opening anything.
Quiet hours apply to delivery, not to detection. An alert triggering inside your window is still evaluated and recorded; it simply arrives silently and waits in your activity list. Nothing is lost.
Every trigger is logged, which matters more than it sounds. It means you can see exactly what fired while you were asleep, in a meeting, or on a flight — and reviewing that log monthly is how you learn whether your thresholds are set sensibly.
Managing your account and subscription
Subscriptions are purchased through the App Store or Google Play, so upgrades, downgrades and cancellations happen there rather than in the app: on iOS in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, on Android in Play Store → Payments and subscriptions. Cancelling stops renewal without removing the time you already paid for.
On a new phone, Restore purchases on the Plans screen re-reads your entitlement from the store and reactivates your plan. It never charges you again — it recognises a subscription that already exists.
Deleting your account removes your alerts, holdings, tracked wallets and notifications permanently, with a short grace period first so an accidental deletion can be undone. You can do it from Settings without contacting anyone.
Never miss a move in how-to
Set a price or percentage alert once and get a push notification the moment it triggers — free, with quiet hours so nothing wakes you at 3am.
- Fires about a second after the price hits
- Runs on our servers, so it reaches you with the app closed
- Free for 3 alerts — no card, no account

Frequently asked questions
Why are my alerts not arriving on Android?
Almost always battery optimisation. Android suspends background apps to save power, which delays or drops push notifications. Set the app to Unrestricted under Settings → Apps → CoinPriceAlert → Battery, and enable Autostart if your manufacturer has that setting.
Do I need to keep the app open?
No. Alert conditions are evaluated on our servers, not on your phone, so the app can be closed or force-quit. Your device only needs to be able to receive a push notification.
Is it safe to add my wallet?
Yes, because we only ever take a public address, which cannot authorise a transfer. We never ask for a private key or recovery phrase, and the app has no technical ability to move funds.
How do I cancel?
Through the store you bought it from — Apple or Google, not inside the app. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and your alerts and portfolio data remain.
